Context: While enrolled in EME612 during the summer of 2015, our group was tasked with creating an instructional unit using multiple forms of media. We were required to conduct proper analysis, create original content, develop the instruction using available technology, and publish the modules for public consumption. For this project we created an open source online beer tasting class using text, photos, video, and interactive media.

Conditions: This was a group project with a small budget (approx. $50) and a five week window for completion. The team utilized the assistance of several subject matter experts; two are featured in the media produced and content from the others was used in the creation of the instructional unit.

Scope: This was the final project submitted at the culmination of the semester. Upon receiving instructor feedback, the group met to make minor edits to the content and correct some issues with the audio recordings.

Role: I was the Project Manager for this project and was responsible for team workflow and timely completion of all project components. In addition, I was heavily involved in the development of the final product since I had previous experience working with Articulate Storyline. I also had the opportunity to utilize my photography skills as we created original media for our instructional unit.

Software: Articulate Storyline 2, Weebly, Adobe Photoshop, Audacity, Basecamp, Google Drive, Google Docs

Context: While enrolled in EME641 during the fall of 2015, our group was asked to tackle a semester-long instructional design project, during which we would each take a turn serving as Project Manager. We chose to create a new website for the Instructional Design & Technology Department. This course satisfies the education requirement for the Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.

Conditions: This was a group project with a small budget (approx. $100) and a fourteen week window for completion. The team utilized pre-existing program documents located on the University of Tampa website and the assistance of UT Education Department SMEs. Our professor served as the client and advisor on the project at various times.

Scope: This was the final project submitted at the culmination of the semester. The layout is different from the original theme selected due to changes with WordPress compatibility. However, the degree related content has not been altered. At the end of the semester, we passed ownership to the Graduate Instructional Design (GRID) Association. They are responsible for updates, responding to inquiries, and periodic blog entries.

Role: I served as the first Project Manager for this assignment and was responsible for developing the workflow/work breakdown structure (WBS), selecting the project management tool, and creating the project plan. In addition, I had the opportunity to conduct team meetings, interface with the client/SMEs, and practice delegation skills. As a team member, I conducted focus groups, was involved in the collection of previously created materials, and developed a Course Selection Guide using Articulate Storyline.

Software: Articulate Storyline 2, WordPress, Basecamp, Evernote, Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Trello
